Head Chef / Kitchen Manager                                                                                                                                 

£30,000 DOE

 

 Job Purpose

To lead and motivate the kitchen team. To manage the food production operation as well as involvement in the development of a high quality food offer. Responsible for company targets/budgets through the control of accurate ordering, food production, wastage and standards. Responsible for the entire kitchen team including Kitchen Porters. In conjunction with the Restaurant Manager, creates a strong culture of teamwork between front of house and back of house personnel. Through training and leadership ensures the highest levels of customer satisfaction are achieved at all times.

Qualifications: Externally recognized food preparation/handling related qualification

Duties and responsibilities

 

Customer: Head Chef / Kitchen Manager

Creates, prepares and serves a wide range of high quality home cooked hot, cold and cake products ensuring that recipe specs are adhered to at all timesEnsures excellent customer service is delivered at all timesEnsures effective deployment of the teamCustomer queries/complaints are handled efficiently and  professionally at all timesImproves the business’s capability to deliver to company objectives

 

People: Head Chef / Kitchen Manager

 

Manages the recruitment and induction of all new Kitchen staff in line with corporate guidelines and associated budgetsIn conjunction with the RGM, constantly reviews and adjusts, where appropriate, staffing levels in order to meet the needs of the customer/businessParticipates in any training sessions as required by Company ManagementLeads the development, training and appraisal of all kitchen staffTo perform any other work related duties as directed by the company managementIs flexible with working hours in order to best meet the needs of our customersPro-actively shares product knowledge and best working practice with other staff at all levelsCreates a strong culture of teamwork between all employeesPresents a professional image by ensuring adherence to the company’s catering staff dress policy at all times

 

Operational: Head Chef / Kitchen Manager

 

Maintains high levels of housekeeping standards in-line with company requirementsEnsure the maintenance of kitchen equipment and report and breakdowns through the correct channelsEnsures all food products/ingredients are re-stocked efficiently and stored according to company policy or as directedMinimises’ losses by adhering to the company’s security proceduresFully complies with the company’s health and safety policy, food hygiene policy and all food legislation including AllergensEnsures full legal compliance by ensuring the kitchen team adhere to all elements of the company food safety policyTo be involved in other business related activities/projects as required
